Updates from Church Council

Dear Friends,

While we continue to give thanks for the birth of Jesus, our Christmas celebrations were very

much muted this year: no in-person church services, pandemic restrictions meant smaller

family gatherings if at all, and very cold, snowy weather that made a mess of many holiday

plans. Not to mention, the retirement of our pastor means our congregation is about to be in transition, so no wonder we are all feeling a bit lost and unsure of what the future will bring.

Let me bring you up to date on some important changes:

  • In-person services have been cancelled until further notice, out of an abundance of caution

  • Services will continue to be live streamed on Sunday at 10:15am

  • Pastor Cliff Reinhardt will be serving part-time as Interim Pastor until at least March, preaching and presiding on most Sundays and available by appointment for pastoral care.

  • Pastor Tim LeDrew will do pulpit supply on Sunday Jan. 16 & Sunday Jan. 23

  • The church office will be closed to drop-in visitors, please call and make an appointment.

  • In case of emergency, please email the church office (mountolive@telus.net) or the Council Chair (suwiz@shaw.ca) or call the office at (604) 536-8527.

As Church Council continues to work on the transition and Call Process, please email your

comments on the survey about the Congregational Profile as soon as possible. We need to

submit the completed document to our new Bishop in the new year.

Details about our Annual General Meeting which will be held as usual in late February will be

sent out next month. Please prayerfully consider joining a committee or the Council.

If you have any comments or questions, please contact anyone on Church Council, we

appreciate the feedback as we continue to try and do God’s work during these uncertain times.

Yours sincerely,

Su. Wieczorek, Chair of Church Council
